Thanks & Roots

This website and the work spun from it is dedicated with great gratitude for all my teachers and all those in our birth community including our ancestors and those yet to be born…
Birth Spirituality and Healing Services strengthen and support:
  • Women in their expression of their feminine power,
  • Humans embodying into our world,
  • Families in rites of passages,
  • The Perinatal Professionals who care for them

Solidarity Statement

My ancestors are Romanian Jewish, Irish and English.  My Irish ancestors were farmers and come from a history of suffering under British imperialism and Irish upper class oppression.  They were also union organizers. My Romanian Jewish ancestors were traders and experienced pograms, the holocaust and racism.  They were also poets, musicians and spiritual teachers.

I am a white person who is involved in ongoing healing of the intergenerational trauma in my body from the abuse my white ancestors experienced and from the abuse and racism they perpetuated and resourced by their many blessings and gifts. And I am in an ongoing learning of how to recognize my own white privilege and not act it out.

Since 1969, I have used my body and privilege to support movements to transform the inner and outer structures of racism, classism, sexism, and our disconnections from our bodies and the earth.

Today, I continue to stand with: Black Mothers and Babies’ Lives Matter, Indigenous movements, Black Lives Matter, BIPOC and others’ struggles and victories for reparations/rematriatians, land back demands, economic justice and earth care.

I am grateful to pay tax to the Sogorea Te land trust to honor that I live and work on the occupied lands of the Miwok Ohlone Peoples and  to honor their work to restore their lands and people's ceremonies.
I am grateful to contribute to the Amah Mutson land trust to honor my friendship with this tribe and their efforts to bring right relationships and healing for all of our relations.

May we heal together.
