Healing Birth Trauma with Bilateral Stimulation
Bilateral Stimulation Healing Birth Trauma Model Syllabus:
This course introduces the Bilateral Stimulation Healing Birth Trauma Model I developed and have used for many years in my Healing Birth Trauma 1-1 sessions. This model has been highly successful in resolving trauma symptoms and addressing trauma triggers from birth experiences, generally taking 3 sessions unless other major traumas including developmental affected the client's experience of her birth giving. It also has been highly effective in preventing birth trauma again for moms who go on to have another child. It combines bilateral stimulation, resourcing practices, interweaves, and honoring and witnessing the birthing person’s strengths and challenges, including obstetric violence, encountered in their rite of passage.
Content of course is based on EMDR trauma treatment, Perinatal Psychology theory and research, cross cultural healing practices and birth anatomy and physiology. This course applies these theories to increase the effectiveness of prevention and treatment of Perinatal Trauma in our community for both the service provider and the birthing woman and family.
Some of the Theory and practices presented in this workshop stem from the following sources:
